


The Bay Village, Ohio native showed out in the national title game against West Liberty, as he scored 28 points on 12-of-17 shooting and also snagged 9 rebounds in the Sharks’ 111-101 victory. Sunahara is fresh off an outstanding 2022-23 season during which he averaged 18.9 points per game while shooting 59.9 percent from the field for a Nova Southeastern team that went 36-0 on its way to the Division II national title.

He is Georgia’s fifth addition from the transfer portal this offseason, joining former Illinois forward RJ Melendez, former VCU forward Jalen DeLoach, former USF center Russel Tchewa and former Niagara guard Noah Thomasson. Sunahara has one year of NCAA eligibility remaining. The 6-foot-8, 210-pound Sunahara is the reigning NABC Division II Player of the Year after his fourth and final season with the Sharks.
